Students will be introduced to holistic care of the expectant family throughout all phases of pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period along with care of children from neonate through adolescence. Students will explore best practices, while integrating the core values of diversity, equity and inclusion. Demonstration of understanding will be conducted by utilizing the nursing process, while addressing both physical and psychosocial needs of patients across diverse clinical settings and simulation experiences. Professional nursing concepts, including clinical judgment, communication, use of technology, and evidence-based practice, are integrated throughout the course.
