This program will provide students with a foundation in database analysis, security, and management.  Employment opportunities include entry-level database programming, database support and administration.  Data security measure, data back up and recovery will be emphasized.

  • Manage data dynamically using PivotTables and PivotCharts
  • Manage data using database functions
  • Work collaboratively to manage data
  • Expand data functions using VBA
  • Support Excel and Access databases
  • Implement, manage and optimize schemas, tables, view, and indexes using SQL
  • Apply data modification language (DML) and data definition language (DDL)
  • Use subqueries and aggregate functions
  • Administer database servers and server groups
  • Create logins, configure permissions, assign roles, and perform other essential security tasks
  • Plan and implement a backup and recovery strategy
  • Import, export and transform data from various sources
  • Apply the various cryptograph technology to secure the database and protect the data from attacks
  • Use advanced authentication and encryption technology to secure the data transmissions in computer networks
  • Develop and implement the information disaster recovery plan, backup and restore all data from a disaster of information systems
