Academic Advising

Academic Advising is an integral part of every student’s educational experience. The advising process at North Shore Community College promotes relationships between students and faculty/ staff that foster student empowerment and educational planning. A faculty or staff member meets with the student throughout his or her college experience to assess the student’s educational plans and goals, to discuss possible connections between academic options and co-curricular interests, to plan for future directions of study and profession, and to encourage the student to make thoughtful decisions that will help him/her make the most out of the undergraduate experience. Students are assigned to an Academic Advisor and/or a faculty advisor in his/her academic program of study.
