MAC160 Medical Assisting Practicum
This course is the clinical connection for principles learned in the medical assisting program. It serves as a vehicle for the application of the clinical and administrative procedures through simulation scenarios and skill labs, seminar discussions, and a supervised unpaid clinical practicum. The seminars allow for debriefing simulation scenarios, sharing of practicum experiences based on journal presentations and for preparing students for employment (168 minimum unpaid hours of practicum in an ambulatory care setting, 32 house clinical simulation on campus, and 25 hours of seminar on campus.)
