IDS126 Exploring the Brain/Mind
This course takes an interdisciplinary look at the structures and functions of the brain/mind. This course draws from the areas of biology, psychology, philosophy, and computer science to explore the influence of the nervous system on human behavior. Topics will include, but are not limited to, the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, mind-body problem, artificial intelligence, thinking, learning and memory, emotions and motivation, stress and well-being, sensation and perception, and consciousness. Fulfills open, liberal arts, social science, and science elective.
