EVS112 Protecting and Managing Water Resources
Water is one of our most precious resources, yet pollution, over allocation and the impacts of climate change pose serious threats to its sustainable use. This course examines the fundamentals of water science and water management, including water in nature, human uses of water and the impact of our activity on water. The class will consider threats to water sustainability, key methods of protecting water resources, the regulatory framework of doing so, as well as historical, economic and policy factors impacting human uses of water. The class will also briefly explore how water is a major source of inspiration in literature, the arts, and many spiritual traditions. Fulfills open and liberal arts elective.
