Programs for High School Students
Early College
Early College: Designated Early College partnerships with local districts provide Massachusetts students, especially from historically disenfranchised populations and first-generation college-goers, access to college completion and career success by combining high school and college in a rigorous, supportive environment. By blending elements of high school and college, students have the opportunity to experience and complete college level academic coursework on a clearly articulated pathway up to and including a North Shore Community College certificate or degree at no cost to them.
Through the 2024-2025 academic year, designated partnerships include Danvers High School, Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School, Frederick Douglass Collegiate Academy, Lynn Public Schools, Salem Public Schools, and Revere High School.

Dual Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment program provides an opportunity for high school or homeschooled students to take college courses. Students may choose to do so to finish high school requirements or to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. Dual Enrollment students are mainstreamed into the college student population and must meet all course prerequisites. Accordingly, Dual Enrollment students should avail themselves of NSCC’s many academic services including advising, wellness and accessibility, tutoring, and the use of the library and computer labs.

Gateway to College
Gateway to College, an early college program within the national Achieving the Dream network, re-engages academically able, disconnected youth to their high school diploma and creates a pathway to a college credential. By providing personalized support and the opportunity to learn on a college campus, Gateway to College is a second chance for a growing number of students aged 16 to 21 every year.
