Northeast Consortium of Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (NECCUM)
Eligible students at North Shore Community College may cross register for up to two courses per semester at any participating institution in the Northeast Consortium of Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts. Colleges in the Consortium are: Cambridge College, Endicott College, Gordon College, Merrimack College, Middlesex Community College, Montserrat College of Art, North Shore Community College, Northern Essex Community College, Regis College, Salem State University, and University of Massachusetts Lowell.
To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be matriculated in a NSCC Program of Study
- Be in at least the second semester of study at NSCC (either consecutively or previously enrolled).
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credits at NSCC in the requested term
- Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
- Be in good academic standing
- Have already met prerequisites for any desired courses
Course restrictions:
- NECCUM cross-registered courses must be full-semester courses
- NECCUM registration is only available in the Fall and Spring semesters. Cross-registration through NECCUM for courses is not available in Summer semesters.
- Some courses are not available due to Special Program restrictions
Host institutions may have additional requirements and guidelines for enrollment in courses. NSCC students are expected to adhere to the guidelines and policies of the host institution while enrolled.
Direct transferability of courses to a student’s program is not guaranteed and is subject to review. Students should discuss equivalency and degree requirement fulfillment with their academic advisor.
Accommodations for exceptional cases where a student was previously denied an approval to participate should be directed with appropriate evidence and support to the Registrar for consideration.
