SOC208 Sociology of Families
This course explores the social, cultural and anthropological dynamics of family as a social institution in modern societies. The course will emphasize patterns of social change associated with shifts in marriage, partner selection trends, family structure and the diversity of families in the United States. The course uses sociological theory and critical thinking approaches to reflect and discuss of the impacts of social structure and social institutions such as government, the economy, education, health care, and law on families.
