HRT209 Cannabis Cultivation and Management
Cultivation of legal cannabis, its origin, uses, and cultivation techniques are the focus of this course. Addressing the significant stages of plant growth and the various propagation techniques used in commercial plant culture, students will learn the effects of photoperiods on the growth cycle and monitoring and maintaining pH and fertility. Impact on crop yield by pruning techniques, low-stress training, and the controlled environment will be introduced. Students will gain skills in diagnosing nutrient deficiencies and identifying and evaluating plant health to implement control strategies. (2 hours lecture, 2 hours lab per week)
