CAD105 Computer Aided Design: AutoCAD
This course explores CAD, using Autodesk AutoCAD for the construction of basic 2D and 3D shapes and multiview drawing. It provides complete instruction in 2D drafting, introduces 3D CAD techniques to demonstrate and utilize 3D parametric modeling in the design process and AutoCAD tools. Topics include point, line, arc and circle generation using a variety of techniques for positioning, moving and copying geometry. Commands are presented for the manipulation of the display and its contents to prepare multiple view part drawings complete with dimensions, annotations and borders. Symbols, diagrams, parts, assemblies, and standards including introduction to 3D modeling, Solid and surface modelling will be covered. Fulfills open and STEM elective.
