Active Student Status and Enrollment in Closed Programs

North Shore Community College students who have matriculated in a program maintain an active status by registering in courses consistently. Students who choose not to register for classes for at least two years from the time of their last enrollment must reapply to the college before re-enrolling. If the program in which they were matriculated at the time of their last enrollment is no longer offered by the college (as determined by the active Catalog at the time of return), they must apply under a new program or may choose to return as a non-matriculated student.

Students who are actively enrolled at the college in a term where their program of study is retired may continue their studies in that closed program, but must maintain a consistent enrollment to remain in that program. Consistent enrollment is considered active registration for each Fall and Spring semester in credit-bearing courses that count toward that program until the student completes the closed program. If the student chooses to change programs and leaves the closed program, they may not complete it even if they have maintained consistent enrollment at the college.
