SPN261 Spanish Composition: Literature, Culture, and Critical Analysis
This course aims to enhance students’ writing proficiency in Spanish through a comprehensive exploration of various aspects of Hispanic culture, literature, and contemporary issues. Conducted entirely in Spanish, the course focuses on developing advanced writing skills through a workshop-based approach that supports both heritage/native speakers and second-language learners.
Students will engage in a variety of writing assignments designed to encourage reflection on their writing processes while addressing linguistic challenges specific to each group. Emphasis will be placed on expository writing, style, correctness, and the critical analysis of texts, providing students with the tools necessary to articulate their thoughts effectively and confidently in written form. Through guided instruction and peer collaboration, all students will gain a deeper understanding of writing conventions in Spanish and improve their ability to express complex ideas.
