SOC206 Social Problems in a Global Context
This course explores the main U.S. social problems and how they are connected to global issues. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of how social problems are interconnected and how they could be approached through a global context. Students will learn about the causes, the global impact, and potential solutions to social problems such as climate change, poverty, inequality, security, terrorism, and substance abuse among others. By the end of the course, students will have learned to use sociological theory and critical thinking to a better understanding of the complexity of social problems and the importance of taking a global perspective to solve them.
