SCI106 Epidemics Past, Present and Future
This course is an elective science course aimed at the non-major that examines the causes and impacts of epidemics throughout history. This course will explore the mechanisms used in both the past and in modern times to predict, prevent and fight epidemics. It will include a look at the risk of bioterrorism and antibiotic resistance in the future. This course includes a look at different types of organisms that cause disease in humans and how the human body resists and fights infections. This course fulfills open, liberal arts, and non-laboratory science electives.
