IDS102C IDS Seminar: Comics in American Culture
This course approaches comic art as a legitimate medium to be understood and appreciated. Students will learn about the history of comics from the late 19th century to the present and gain critical reading skills for deconstructing text/image based information and all other media. This course will help students identify and analyze symbolism, themes, styles, genres and cultural uses of comic art while improving their overall abilities as critical readers. Fulfills open and liberal arts electives.
