ECE124 Introduction to Child Development Associate (CDA) with Portfolio Development
This course is designed to assist early childhood educators (currently working in an infant/toddler, preschool or family child care setting) to earn the national Child Development Associate (CDS) Credential. This course provides students with an understanding of the thirteen CDA Functional Areas and six Competency goals, guides the development of the required CDA Portfolio, and provides preparation for the on-site CDA 'Verification Visit' as well as the national CDA exam. Participants will gain a better understanding of developmentally appropriate practices with young children and working with diverse families as they advance in their professional pathway in the field of early childhood education. Participants must complete a minimum of 480 hours of current workplace experience in the field of early childhood education to earn the CDA credential.
