COS201 Cosmetology 2
This course is a continuation of Cosmetology 1 in which students will learn about the history of cosmetology, career opportunities, general anatomy and physiology, skin disorders and diseases, nail structure and growth, nail disorders and diseases, basics of chemistry, basics of electricity, hair extensions, wigs, advanced chemical texture services, nail tips and enhancements. Salon business, on the job and preparation for licensure and employment. Within a salon setting, students practice and develop their skills on clients 3 days a week under instructor supervision and guidance. Students will consult with clients to determine their needs and preferences. This course also trains students to manage their time to provide efficient client service, to practice marketing professional salon products and to maintain business records related to client services.
