CAD107 Computer Aided Design: SolidWorks
This course introduces students to concepts and tools for producing solid models and engineering drawing packages that can be efficiently manufactured in an engineering shop using the latest releases of SolidWorks software. Course explores the theory and application of solid modeling techniques for product design and manufacturing, using SolidWorks parametric modeling software. Topics include: Part Modeling, Detail Drawings and Assembly Modeling. 3D surface and solid modeling, extrusion, Boolean operations, 3D editing, 3D views, rendering, to produce multi-view drawings and presentation drawings using SolidWorks software. Successful completion of this course will prepare the student to successfully build and use Parts, Assemblies, and Drawing Layouts, in the typical Engineering/Manufacturing workplace. Fulfills open and STEM elective.
