CBS103 Blueprint Reading for the Building Trades

This course is designed for students interested in architecture, engineering, and construction technology. Blueprint reading involves all types of construction drawings. All trades will be discussed including architectural, structural, MEP, etc. The course will provide a complete overview of construction drawing basics for every aspect of the construction process, from site work to interior finishes. The course will cover the latest technological advances including computer aided design (CAD), MasterFormat specifications, symbols, and typical challenges on construction projects. This course will also review building codes and general business concepts. Fulfills open and stem electives.
