GWS106 Revolutionary Women: Combating Inequality, Poverty, and Power

In this course, students will study prominent American women who have fostered change in national liberation movements, career opportunities, and social expectations to combat inequality, poverty, and power in the United States. Careful observations will be made of all gender roles and their subsequent values. Special attention will be given to women who have challenged the patriarchy as a structural power in the arts, journalism, and war. In addition, inequality among other intersecting identities will be examined.
